The cord that makes the most beautiful knots in the studio — and holds them firm for years

In macrame, shamballa, and wrap bracelets, the cord is not the stringing material — it is the jewellery itself. The texture, colour, and the way knots form on the cord are the elements that define the final appearance of the piece. Solideea's Waxed Polyester Cord for Jewelry is the working material that produces the cleanest, firmest, and most sharply defined knots in the entire range of jewellery materials — its uniform waxing gives it a smooth surface that slides through knots without resistance, yet locks firmly in the final position without slipping.

Why do Solideea jewellers choose this cord?

Uniformly waxed — clean and sharply defined knots The layer of wax applied uniformly to the polyester fibres creates a smooth surface that allows macrame knots to form with a precision and visual clarity impossible to achieve with unwaxed cord — every knot comes out defined, firm, and professional-looking from the very first use.
💪
Resistant polyester — does not break, does not fray, does not lose shape Polyester fibre has superior tensile strength to cotton or nylon at the same thickness — waxed polyester cord withstands the forces specific to tightly tied macrame knots and daily wear without thinning, unravelling, or losing its structural elasticity.
🎨
Multiple colours — varied palette for any style Available in a wide range of colours — natural and earthy tones for boho jewellery, vibrant and bright for summer pieces, neutral and metallic for minimalist jewellery — so the cord itself becomes the main chromatic element of the jewellery, not merely its support.
💧
Water resistant — jewellery survives active wear The wax protects the polyester fibres from water absorption — the cord does not swell, does not lose its shape, and does not discolour on contact with water, perspiration, or moisture, making jewellery created with it suitable for active, daily wear without restrictions.
🎯
Multiple thicknesses — right for any jewellery technique Available in thicknesses from [X]mm to [X]mm — fine cord for delicate macrame jewellery and thin necklaces, medium cord for wrap and shamballa bracelets, thick cord for statement pieces with large, visible knots. A single supply source for all your techniques.
🔄
Compatible with beads and pendants — threads easily through small holes Waxing creates a naturally rigid tip at the end of the cord — a temporary needle that allows threading through bead holes without an additional stringing needle. Beads with small holes that would not accept unwaxed cord slide easily onto the waxed cord without friction or damaging the hole.

Solideea Tip

To finish a waxed cord bracelet without the knot being visible, end with a Chinese button knot or a tight cobra knot that also functions as a decorative element, not merely functional. Alternatively, thread the cord ends through a few beads above the knot before trimming — the beads hide the knot and create a clean, professional finish. Apply a small drop of transparent superglue onto the final knot before cutting the ends to prevent unravelling over time — waxed cord accepts adhesive excellently and the knot remains permanently secure.
